Lights Out - Santigold

Mind blown.

Hanson - Thinking Bout’ Somethin’

This video is pretty much adorable. Also, Taylor Hanson was my first love, and I’m still convinced he’s my soulmate. I am so excited for this album.

Josh Ritter - To the Dogs or Whoever

I posted a different video of this a couple of days ago from when I went to see him live with The Royal City Band. I haven’t been able to get this song out of my head since then, so this is a better version, performed on Letterman.

Josh Ritter - To the Dogs or Whoever live in Louisville, KY 5/17/10

We went to see him and it was probably the most beautiful live performance I’ve ever seen. I am not really an emotional person, in fact, I can usually accurately call myself stoic. But that man, and those songs.

Sorry for the shitty iphone video, Tommy’s flight got cancelled from Amsterdam because of the volcanic ash so he missed the concert. I was trying to give him something that made him feel like he was there, and my phone wouldn’t let me dial out to call him… this was the next best thing.

We Didn't Warn You.

In preparation for Tim Fite’s new album Under the Table Tennis that drops for free! tomorrow… here’s a little teaser for you. Also, one more week and I will be in Newport hanging with this man, and I cannot wait.

Violent Femmes - Blister in the Sun

Jake Troth - Material Things

I cannot stop listening to this song.

EDIT: And I also kind of have a crush on this man.

You probably should be jealous that I live with this man, and you do not.

I really miss my banjo. I may have to pay it a visit soon. And by visit, I mean kidnap it from my ex-boyfriend. Oh, and my pretty little blue beach cruiser. I miss that too, and it is going to be needed very soon for bike rides along the Ohio River.

Tim Fite - A Better Fence

13 Days!

The album.

Paris in the Morning - Joe Purdy < Click to listen to the full album.

Doesn’t everyone have an album that resonates so much with who/what they are that it is kind of scary, and arouses so many feelings and memories (good and bad) that at times it’s overwhelming? This is the album that does that for me. I don’t listen to it often, because it’s such an intense experience for me, but I feel like if I could only pick one album to be the soundtrack of my life, this would be it.

If you don’t listen to anything else on Paris in the Morning, at least listen to track 3 (Brand New Set of Wings) and track 4 (Make it Up).

What album would you choose for the soundtrack of your life?
