This picture Colleen took of us in the back of the car might be the only photo taken of my Halloween costume. We might have been the most done up people at Pretty Lights, which was a little sad. It took three days for my hair to be back to normal.

October has been a crazy busy month. It’s always my favorite month of the year, but this one has been especially stellar.
- First, there was Maria’s 24th birthday.
- Then, my sister turned 18.
- And then I didn’t work for two weeks and instead hung out in Folly Beach, SC for Erin and Jeff’s wedding. I made new friends and grew old friendships, tested my own limits, got extremely ill, saw the most beautiful night sky I’ve ever seen, and learned a whole lot about myself.
- After I returned to Louisville, it was crunch time for my Halloween costume, which is still not totally finished yet.
- And to cap the month off will be Pretty Lights in Nashville tomorrow!

This is what I did Friday night. I haven’t slept, I’ve barely eaten, and I just got home from a ten hour shift at work. Life is good. Every single time I see Pretty Lights perform it’s better than the last time. This shit was sick.

Pretty Lights - Final Countdown, NYE Chicago 2009/10
2010 went out with a bang. I saw Pretty Lights and Major Lazer! I spent the last minutes of 2010, and the first ones of 2011 stuck on a subway in Chicago. This was the song that was playing in my head as this was happening (I realize there is actually no video, but the audio alone was too big of a file to post). I dance partied to Bassnectar with Maria in our fancy hotel room with every light (but an led ball, and a lightshow on the computer) off. I ate red velvet ice cream and a bite of a pink donut. I wished that glitter was capable of keeping me warm. I walked around the city by myself with pupils that were bigger than my irises. I took the train to visit Ashlea. I got lost a few times. I learned to hate shopping on Michigan Avenue. I couldn’t keep up with my phone, so somehow managed to only take a few pictures, and none of anyone having fun. I had a blast, and I am hoping that 2011 is a toned down version of this past weekend.
